Gwen’s Lake (Match Lake)

Gwen’s Lake (Match Lake) is the newest of our three lakes and has been stocked with over 18,000 fish. Carp, tench, roach, rudd, Ide, chub, bream and perch are all stocked in significant numbers. The lake is purpose built and designed for the match angler.

Named after the owner’s late mother, Gwen’s lake has 23 accessible pegs and is available for day session fishing. The lake is also available to hire by clubs for matches and provides fantastic sport for the competitive angler. Keepnets are provided by Newhay Lakes and must be used for all matches.

Landing Nets & Unhooking Mats Must Be Used When Carp Fishing
If Carp Fishing, Fish Care Kits Must Be Carried & Used
Maximum Size 10 Hook
Barbless Hooks Only
No Tents – Bivvies & Brollies Only
Maximum Three Rods
No Bait Boats
Groundbait & Sweetcorn in Feeders or Pole Cups Only – Not By Hand
No Cat Food
No Nuts / No Tigers
No Unattended Rods
All Fish To Be Returned To The Water ASAP
Children Under 12 Must Be Accompanied By An Adult At All Times

General Rules

All Litter To Be Removed From Site & Taken Home
No Excessive Alcohol Consumption
No Drug Taking
No Fires – BBQ’s Are Permitted But Must Not Burn The Grass
Otter Gate To Be Kept Closed At All Times
No Dogs
No Non Fishing Guests Unless Through Prior Arrangement
All Fish Remain The Property Of Newhay Lakes
No Loud Radios
No Antisocial or Generally Disruptive Behaviour
